The Meat Valley is an old fashioned community butcher owned by Anton and Engela Grobler. The butchery was started in 1989 and then it was known as Grobies Butchery. Anton sold it and worked with one of his relatives at their butchery. He had great ideas on how to improve the butchery and decided to open his own butchery again; this is when The Meat Valley was established. The Meat Valley has developed a great reputation not only in the Helderkruin (West Rand) area but throughout Gauteng. Anton and Engela have grown substantially and have 10 employees, who have been trained and empowered with valuable skills. In September the butchery will be celebrating its seventh year in business. Engela and Anton have seen businesses come and go yet they have grown stronger over the years. They have provided fresh produce over the years and none of their products are frozen. The Meat Valley has also developed a range of marinated products made in-house. The butchery has also taken orders for functions. One of their most memorable has been an order for a function held for the Gautrain. Engela has also contributed to the community by making meat deliveries to old age homes after hours, though the butchery does not offer delivery services.
