More about The Global Chocolate Company

I grew up in Pinetown, KZN and completed matric at Kearsney College. After completing my Diploma in Hotel Management I worked for Southern Sun Hotels, and held various R & D positions in the foodservice and hospitality related industries, including Advisory Chef for Nestle. After 25 years in the hospitality and catering industry, I took up a position with a chocolate manufacturer in Johannesburg. I was retrenched after 2 years but my passion for sales and marketing in the chocolate industry together with my entrepreneurial spirit led me to starting my own chocolate company. I had no starting capital and so the only way to get going was to approach an international Belgian Chocolate manufacturer to become their exclusive sales and marketing agent in South Africa on a retainer and commission structure. Over the past 18 months we have quadrupled our sales and what is important for me is the repeat business that we enjoy. My selling features are that I offer a personal service in terms of advice, sourcing of products and distribution, tailor made for each client. As the business grew, more and more customers requested other related products and as a result I have grown our basket to include a variety of confectionary and related products and supply these to manufacturers and artisanal chocolatiers around the country. I also recently started offering turnkey solutions in terms of chocolate manufacturing, chocolate design and chocolate innovation for corporates.
