After years in the recruitment/resourcing industry, having spent time working as a specialist consultant with one of the JSE listed recruitment company, Tshego started TBS Corporate Solutions, a level 3 contributor according to BBBEE ratings. She did not want to brand it as a recruitment company as she always knew she would want to diversify her service offering over time. In August 2013, she bought a laptop and 3G, connected a landline and started making calls and sending out emails. Within weeks, she started working on her first two projects. While the first eight months of the business were dedicated to focusing on recruitment and executive search projects, it was in a meeting with a client and after exposure to so many hard working young people that Tshego decided to rebrand to include all things innovation. This vision gave birth to the launch of an Innovation Seminar which was held in June 2014 and attracted 67 young people with innovative/business ideas. So far, a few of these young people with bankable ideas are going through a selection process with some of TBS Corporate’s clients. Tshego also hosted the second innovation seminar in August 2014 and it was a huge success; the event had speakers and/or sponsors from Samsung, MTN, SAB Foundation as well as OutSystems. TBS Corporate went through a few challenges in its first year but now focuses on the following areas which are keeping it afloat:
• Recruitment and Executive Search
• Sourcing of suppliers for clients
• Sourcing of Innovative SMMEs
• Career Guidance
Tshego believes that when you have given birth to a vision, nothing can ever stop you from fully realising its full potential.
